Born in Thessaloniki (Greece), Dr. Sevasti Chalkidou is an Assistant Professor of Cadastre and Geographic Information Systems in the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She is also a member of the Laboratory of Cadastre and Geographic Information Systems at the Department of Cadastre, Photogrammetry and Cartography. She has received her PhD from the same School,  entitled ” Simulating land use change through the use of cadastral data at an urban and peri-urban scale ” (2019), and holds a Master’s Degree from University College London (U.C.L,2009) on European Spatial Planning and Property Management (M.Sc European Property Development and Planning). She is the author of 9 scientific papers in international journals and conferences.  She has significant experience as a freelance Surveyor Engineer from 2010 to 2024, through her participation in several public studies/projects regarding the National Cadastre of Greece, the design and implementation of Geographic Information System applications, the design and development of various spatial plans, expropriation and cadastral projects for institutions including Elliniko Ktimatologio, Egnatia Odos S.A, Trans-Adriatic Pipeline, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, etc. She has participated in 7 National and European Research Programmes as a scientific researcher on behalf of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the field of spatial data analysis, design and implementation of G.I.S applications, analysis of real-estate data through Machine Learning Algorithms, as well as in the visualization of spatial data through AR technologies (2020-present). She also  participates as Lecturer in the MSc “Land Registry: Legal, Technical and Environmental Dimensions” at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
